Jesus.....Foretold

The Old Testament not only tells of the history of God’s creation, the fall of man, the Israelites’ journey to the promise land, stories of faith and the dedication of the faithful men of God who stood firm in their faith, and the birth of God’s Son, Jesus, it also tells of the Jesus’ impending death and resurrection. Yes, thousands of years before Christ’s birth, His death and resurrection were prophesied.

There are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament that Jesus fulfi

Broken Treasure

In Japanese culture, Kintsugi is a word given to a piece of ordinary pottery that has been elevated to a prized heirloom by being broken then pieced back together using liquid gold. The “new” treasure is then given a place of honor in the home so that all who come by can see it and be told its story...

- Of what was before – delightful and useful purpose in the owner’s hand

- Of the breaking and loss – no longer able to be used, destined to be cast away, original creativity

The Power of Christ's Resurrection and Blood Sacrifice

by: Alicia Gasaway

As we approach the anniversary of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, we must reflect on what His resurrection and blood sacrifice mean for every human being.

Leviticus 17:11 states "For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life." This verse tells us that blood is required to cleanse us from our sin. Animal sacrifice only covered our sins temporarily.

God had and still has a plan

Before the foundations of the world God had a plan for life, for salvation, for freedom. He delivered Israel over and over again. They witnessed His glory and power and rejected His gift. We have all been blinded, all by the same things, what we see, by what we want, and by pride. BUT GOD loved us all anyway; when we were selfish, arrogant, prideful, and even when we rejected him, even when He was crucified for our sins He said Father forgive them, for they do not know wha

“Jesus, The Resurrection and The Life”

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me believes in me will never die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

John 11:25-26

I can picture Mary and Martha standing beside the body of Lazarus in mourning, and then to see their excitement and astonishment when Jesus raised him from the dead. Wow, how powerful God is! Whoever is a believer in Christ has a spi

Resurrected Revival

We are finally here! My favorite season of all seasons, resurrection season! Oh how I love watching vegetation resurrected back to life after laying dormant during the winter season, reminding me all the more of the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, after His Passion, as He suffered, died, and resurrected back to life; However, my focal point this year has been on what occurred after the resurrection, exactly fifty days after, Pentecost.

With all the chaos happening

The Resurrection Changed Everything!

The Resurrection Changed Everything.

Yes it’s true, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ changed everything. Gazing inside this historical fact about Jesus’ Resurrection places everything in perspective.

Just like our Salvation, we accept the resurrection of Jesus Christ by faith. The apostle Paul states in first Corinthians 15, that we would be men and women most miserable if Jesus hadn’t risen from the grave.

God‘s word is adamant that the earth quaked, darkness came

Resurrecting Hope

I have always been a vivid dreamer and usually remember my dreams. Last week, I had a very unique dream which included many of our church family. Most of my dreams happen in the old sanctuary which is unusal since we've been in the "new" sanctuary almost twelve years. In my dream, we were in the old sanctuary and I turned around and there sat Sarah Pierce. Sarah passed to her glorious reward in August of 2020 from complications due to having been given blood while recoveri

The Hope of Eternal Life

by: Kim Hawkins

Have you ever experienced a great expectation? A great expectation is another way to say hope. Hope is the feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. The resurrecting hope found in Jesus Christ is the only hope you will ever need.

1 Peter 1:3-4 NLT: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a

Proverbs 3:5-7 GNT Trust in the Lord with all your heart.  Never rely on what you think you know.  Remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the right way.

Sometimes as life goes on, we get into a vicious cycle, just like the Israelites did.  When the Israelites entered the promised land after 40 years of wondering through the desert; could you imagine, their hope, as they spent time wondering around?   Would it have been any different if they would have

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as the eagle. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

(Qavah- pronounced Kav-Haw to wait, waiting, waited. Denotes looking for, hoping for, to linger, to look eagerly for, to actively expect)

Thirty-three years before the waiting had come to an end.

Mary and Joseph had waited for the promised child to come. And so, the Word of God came.

We left the dock early that morning just at daybreak to absolutely bluebird sky and glass smooth waters. Dad, Kim, Chase and I set our gps to a nearshore wreck a few miles from the mouth of St. Andrews Pass in Panama City. Throttle down we had great anticipation for what the day would surely hold. Everything was perfect…the conditions, the tackle, the location….we knew it was going to be something special. It was a good run out to the wreck, and within an hour of full thro

'His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon. Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, And grow like a vine. Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon. I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon.'
